The Tour of Alberta Edson Event is going to be AWESOME!!!

The weekend kicks off on Saturday, Sept 5th with a free showing of the movie “Chasing Legends” at 5 pm at the Nova Theater. Bring the family and come have a glimpse into the lives of high performance cyclists. This movie is sure to get you revved up for the next day!

Sunday September 6th the fun starts with festival from 7:30-11:00 am. Featuring:

-Free pancake breakfast
-Pennyfarthings bike skill course
-Photobooth
-Three bike generators that you can ride to make bubbles, music, a light show, and smoothies!!!
-Face painters
-Captain Red
-Spin Bike Challenge
-Bouncy House
and much more!!

TOA specific parts of the festival include:
-rider sign-in
-autograph alley
-pit zone (meet the teams!)
-race start at 10:35 am
(with a lap around town before they head out)
and much more!!!

Stage 5 of the Tour of Alberta starts with a quick ride through the Town of Edson. Roads will be closed while the tour makes it’s way through the area. That includes driveways and back alleys until the entire group of riders is through.

Town of Edson is proud to host Stage 5 of The Tour of Alberta presented by ATB Financial on Sunday September 6th, 2015. It’s Canada’s first and highest ranked professional road cycling stage race. With an international audience of over 45.5 million viewers in 2014, the world will be watching once again as the event enters its third year this fall. Tour of Alberta will see approximately 120 of the world’s best cyclists race across a diverse and beautiful landscape of Alberta’s urban and rural roads throughout the six-day stage race.
