Early Childhood Matters will be hosting their first PJ’s plus Fun and Food night out in Yellowhead County. The venue will be held on February 27th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Peers Community Centre, located at 5202 – 49 Avenue in Peers.
Early Childhood Matters is targeted for families with children 0-5 years of age. But welcomes older siblings to join in as well during any of their events. If you are a parent or looking after a child in-between this age range, we encourage you to come check out the fun.
This event is a PJ activity night, so everyone is encouraged to ware their comfy pajama’s. That means parents or childcare providers should come in their pajama’s too. The atmosphere is relaxed for parents to be able to come and enjoy some indoor play space during the colder months, with their child.
During the hours of 4 and 7p.m. many find it to be a stressful time of day. Trying to get older siblings from school, helping with any homework, snacks for hungry wee ones, changing diapers, making a dinner meal for the family, then the clean up after everyone has eaten. Not to forget most children like to have story time or some down time with their parents before heading off to bed.
Early Childhood Matters would like to offer a night for you and your child to enjoy quality time together, without all the stress and worry of anything else. You show up with your PJ’s already on, so that takes care of having to do that upon arriving back home. Early Childhood Matters will provide a easy light dinner for you and your child to enjoy, giving you some time away from cooking.
Come and play, relax, enjoy that quality time, that is so priceless with your little people. Make memories playing together and turn the rest of the world off, even if its just for a couple of hours. Activities for fine motor skills such as coloring, playing with living sand will be set up for you to do alongside your child. For those gross motor skills to get them up and moving and burning some energy, you can join in the fun of dancing, bean bag toss or playing the Alphabet Ball game.
After some fun, food will be available at no charge, then enjoy some wind down time to help settle for the trip home and bedtime. For more information you can contact Deanna at 780-723-6263.
