Mental Health First Aid for Seniors

This course covers the supports available to seniors living with a variety of mental health conditions. It will train participants to effectively respond to an emerging mental health problem or crisis, until the situation is resolved or appropriate treatment is found.
A variety of mental conditions will be covered, ranging from substance abuse disorder, depression and anxiety to dementia and delirium. Participants will have increased confidence in understanding these conditions, providing support to seniors, helping guide individuals in need to appropriate resources.

Who should take this course?
• Anyone living in Alberta who is a senior
• Has senior family, friends or neighbors
• Cares for or works with seniors
